Oishida town is located in north part of Yamagata prefecture. Here is really small town which is only 6700 population
　Our town was developed by Mogami river transportation and tourist can see its historical site everywhere while walking around here. On the other hand, Oishida is one of the heaviest snowfall area around Yamagata-pref. it might be over 2 meter(6.5 feet) in the center of the town, that's why winter sports are really popular such as cross-country
​　Because of strict winter, we have gratitude for spring coming. Sakura blossoms, symbol flower of the town, are fully bloom along Mogami river. Other flowers are intermittently bloom, narcissus,  moss phlox exc. Also people in Oishida are better to take care of flowers at their own garden. Tulip and canola flower, various shades of spring color are spread in front of you! 
​​　Edible wild plants in spring, watermelon in summer, buckwheat and yam in autumn. Every season has its gorgeous ingredients. Please enjoy countryside gourmet here as same as our history and nature.
